Community Kids Network connects North Texas parents and their children with organizations in need of volunteers. Volunteering teaches kids compassion and boosts self esteem. When children help others, they feel good about themselves. CKN provides parents with the information necessary to find volunteer opportunities that can be shared with their children, while teaching them the invaluable lesson of good citizenship. Please visit Volunteer Opportunities to find an organization that's just right for your family!
Big Thought
The North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee and nonprofit Big Thought aim to recruit 20,000 kids for community service. The Super Bowl is less than six months away and there is a SUPER way for North Texas youth to get involved. Registration is underway now through December 31 for SLANT45 (Service Learning Adventures in North Texas), the youth education initiative of the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee. The program open to youth ages 5 - 18 in Collin, Dallas, Denton, Rockwall, and Tarrant counties. SLANT 45 projects can be done in the classroom, with a sports team, youth group, or even at home. Register online at www.slant45.org.
